Duo Hyon Sabbah
Stage partners since 2018, Fabien Hyon and Juliette Sabbah passionately explore the repertoire of mélodie and lied. Invited to perform at various festivals and seasons (Jeunes Talents, Opéra de Baugé, Festival En Voix! – Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne…), they share their love of music and poetry with their audiences.
Laureates of the International Mélodie Competition in Gordes, their duo benefits from the experience of renowned artists such as Susan Manoff, Anne Le Bozec, Richard Stokes, José Van Dam, Malcolm Martineau, and François Leroux… and they continue to refine their art in prestigious academies (Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Royaumont Foundation, Oxford Lieder Mastercourse, Snape Maltings…).
To broaden boundaries and reach the widest possible audience, they offer programs composed of German, French, as well as Spanish and English music. They also place a significant emphasis on creation and are the dedicatees of several works (Graciane Finzi, Michel Bosc, Elisabeth Angot, Fabien Touchard…).
"There is in the dialogue between the two young artists a spontaneity, an ease as well to wander like this, from Montparnasse to Montmartre, skipping over streams, from one mood to another, which invites us to follow them..."
ForumOpera, C. Rizoud
Their duo is appreciated and recognized for its sensitivity, its sense of listening, its musical line, the diversity of its programs, and the variety of its repertoire. Keen to bring the texts they interpret to life, the two artists create staged programs, the next of which, Paris Vagabond, will be performed as part of the En Voix! festival at the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne.
Eager to engage with audiences who have limited access to concert halls, Fabien Hyon and Juliette Sabbah are involved with the Music'O Seniors association, performing for patients with Alzheimer’s and autism. They regularly participate, together or separately, in educational initiatives and also perform for the visually impaired and for inmates.
Fabien Hyon and Juliette Sabbah are delighted to sign their first recording with the Passavant label, dedicated to the mélodies of Joseph Kosma, Francis Poulenc, Reynaldo Hahn, Déodat de Séverac, and Albert Roussel.
